We were a bit late getting started today, as we were bitten by the 'jet lag' bug. Poor Joey woke Jim and I up at 10:00 a.m. in utter horror that we were still sleeping. He was concerned that we needed to get moving! We boarded 'The Big Bus' red route in search of the Tower of London.

We were extremely lucky to arrive at the Tower of London when we did as it started to pour rain. We spent a couple of hours touring the various buildings, and viewing the Crown Jewels. We watched the changing of the guards. I have decided that I would like the Koh-i-Noor diamond as my anniversary gift this year.
Other highlights of today included cruisin' by Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, the MI5 & MI6 (for you James Bond fans), Westminster Abbey, House of Parliament, Buckingham Palace.....and more. Joey was thrilled to see the statue of Wellington and his residence.

We found a fabulous French Colonial Indian restaurant for dinner, and spent 2 hours enjoying a sampling of their dining experience.
Tomorrow......Portsmouth or bust!

Hello,
ReplyDeletewe have been truly enjoying your vacation along with you, probably not as exciting on our end! Thanks for all the updates, and a special thanks from Markus for the B day wishes today. Looks like you are finding some great cafes, Kirk is slightly jealous :)
