Today the plan was to tour St. Paul's Cathedral, Wellington's house, Kensington Palace and shop at Harrod's. Apparently.....a little ambitious!!!We slept in again (well...we are on holidays), so it was another late start to the day.
We should have paid more attention on Saturday's tour when the guide mentioned that during the week the City of London changes from 7,000 people to 1 million people. Talk about traffic congestion!!
This is a picture of the original Twinings Tea store in London.

We took the 'super tour' at St. Paul's Cathedral. What a fantastic structure - the sheer size of the church, the mosaic detailing on the ceiling and it is an Anglican church. It is unbelievable to see how well preserved this church is considering they started to build it in 1675 (completed in 1710).
Joey was in heaven (no pun intended) as we viewed Wellington's and Lord Nelson's memorials, and then we headed to the crypt to view where they were laid to rest.
Unfortunately, by the time we arrived at Wellington's house it was closed for the day. Joey was pretty disappointed, but it gives him a reason to return for a visit to London someday.

Finally, it was my turn on the itinerary, and we headed over to Harrod's for a quick shopping experience. We almost ran smack into Mohammad Al Fayed as we came down one of the escalators, and he was standing at the bottom surrounded by his security team. We also viewed the memorial to Princess Diane and Dodi. The diamond ring he was going to give her is part of the display....words cannot explain how big this ring is! Pictured is a small box of chocolates from Harrod's - they are truly delicious.

It has been a wonderful experience to watch Joey on this leg of the trip. He truly has an appreciation of London and its heritage.
And in honor of Canada Day tomorrow, we are attaching a picture of Canada House in Trafalgar Square.
Tomorrow, we are off to Paris via the Chunnel.
