Viva Paris!!

Well, well, here we are getting ready to board the Euro star train for Paris. Quite an interesting experience to get here. Once you leave the taxi and enter the doors you feel as though you are entering a different country. Very similar to the US custom experience. You pass through the security checkpoint and xray machines, then pass by the custom officers who don't even bother and stamp your pass.

Here we are enjoying a Cafe Nero latte prior to boarding.

The train station is very modern with some
historical touches in the archways.

Once on board it was like riding on a luxury cruiser - going 186 mph.
The meal was fantastic (fish or beef) as was the wine and beer - along with the French country side. We actually missed the point the train entered the chunnel - chatting away - then we came up on the French side and enjoyed the final ride inland.

As we left the train station and went towards our hotel, passing by a drunk vomiting in the park, we were able to take in various sites along the way. Our hotel is central to both the Arch and the Eiffel Tower.
The Eiffel tower is a beautiful site as is the surrounding area -I could do without the various hustlers selling their wares - some are very aggressive. We walked back up to our hotel and had dinner - the same chef who works in Las Vegas at one of the hotels is the head chef here. Although we feel a little discombobulated with the language barrier we are looking forward to tomorrow and a general sight seeing day,

  1. When you visit the Arc, post lots of pictures, it was my fav spot in Paris. Sounds like an excellent trip so far, have fun we'll watch ya everyday. I think I can tell when Rhonda is blogging ... references to vomiting bums and aggressive peddlers ?
    Take care
