Caen or can't

Well today didn't turn out as expected. We had planned on taking the train upto Caen to visit Juno beach, but after doing some additional research last night we decided that to really experience it properly we would need a couple of days - time we just don't have. So like any good tourist we took advantage of our down day to do some housekeeping - laundry in this case and to rest our tired legs.

After sleeping in we headed off in search of a laundry mat I found in the Paris yellow pages. It actually ended up being just a few blocks away so we went and inspected it prior to using it (more like attempting to figure out how to use the machines) then headed for lunch at a cafe.

Rhonda is a fan of the Parisian coffee and even though we found a Starbucks on our journey this morning I don't think she'll be having one.

After lunch we gathered our goods and headed back to do our laundry. The laundry mat was interesting because it is all controlled from a central machine, and after some additional help from the kind owner we were on our way to having fresh clothes for the next leg.

Rhonda also snapped a photo of her boys outside the Hotel restaurant we ate at the first night without understanding that it was the creation the famous French chef Alain Ducasse.

Tomorrow we are off to Brussels and the historical Battle of Waterloo .
