Farewell to Rome and Journey Home

We all had to admit that we are finally exhausted...so we slept in on Friday. Once we finally got up we decided to go in search of some really good and authentic pasta. Lucky for us, we stumbled on a little hole in the wall called Piccolo Boco.

We enjoyed some absolutely fabulous spaghetti carbonara (Jim had to try it almost everywhere we ate), four cheese gnocchi for Joey and Tortellini with cream, ham and peas for me.

If you are wondering about Joey's hair (the 'slick' back look), he decided to style it like Silvio Berlusconi (PM of Italy), who is currently tangled in scandal.

Although we were completely museumed out, I really wanted to see the statue of the She Wolf with Romulus and Remus, so we took a quick tour of the Capitoline Museum (Musei Capitolini).

The museum houses some of the most important Roman sculptures in the world plus you get to look back on the ruins towards Palatine Hill.

Then...it was off to do some serious souvenir shopping. I was able to locate 2 of Italy's famous chocolate (Feletti and Venchi). I will now have to decide who has the best chocolate in Europe.
And...we could not leave without a quality bottle of Lemoncello.

Here is a shot of the boys' in there pods on our journey home. It began around 4:00 a.m. in Rome (about 8:00 p.m. the night before your time) and we landed safely in Calgary last night.
We are hoping to re-adjust without too much jet lag.
We truly had a fantastic journey!!
